Eyjafjallajökull Volcano - The Crater
Looking down to the crater and new hot springs area in Eyjafjallajökull volcano on 19.08.2010. The volcano erupted from 14th of april to 23rd of may 2010. The area is far from beeing cooled down yet, a massive geothermal heat is still melting down the glacier around the crater and hot springs visible in the area. The glacier is still covered with thick layer of ash, but ice is visible in soma areas. In the far distance is Fljótshlíð to the left and Þórsmörk to the right.
