Evil Forces, Eyjafjallajökull Erupting Volcano - Iceland

Newer Older

Eyjafjallajökull volcano last night. Ash fumes in the air lighted up by a large lightning, above the erupting crack in the glacier.

As I'm writing this text (17.april 15:13 local time), the news in Iceland are giving out a security warning about how to avoid to be struck by lightning in the area around the volcano.

Really cool shot, but I'm wondering why the EXIF data is hidden from everyone who's wondering what camera/lens/setting you used to capture this...I'm just assuming this is multiple images merged together, because clearly the exposure was at least a minute long, or even longer, to get that much star movement with a wide angle lens; but if it were a single image with a minute exposure, there would be MUCH more movement of those erupting clouds, and you would see that in the image. Still a great shot, but I'd be really surprised if this were just one single image.
