The Center for Nursing History
The Center for Nursing History was founded:
- To strengthen the identity of local nurses and nursing by bringing to life the detials of the founding and evolution of nursing and nursing education in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
- To give voice to area nurses, past, present and future through exhibits and sponsored events.
- To ensure the preservation and maintenance of the history of nursing and nursing education in Northeastern Pennsylvania for present and future generations by serving as one central location for all local nursing historical materials, memorabilia and archives.
Location: Second floor of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library on the Misericordia University Campus.
Material is donated by members of the nursing profession as well as local hospitals and nursing schools. The collection consists of photographs, brochures, nursing uniforms and other memorabilia.
