Freedom Falls - Venango County, PA (September 15, 2012)
It's been just shy of (1) year since my last journey here and today, I managed to arrive at around 6:30 a.m. It was pitch black when I arrived and as I was waiting for the sun to rise, I noticed that there were people camping on the trails on the way to this location. (A bit un-settling as I was hiking in pitch darkness only to be terrified by ruffled sounds coming from a tent. Not sure why, but the movie, "The HIlls have Eyes" came to mind .. haha)
This falls was much fuller the last time I was here and even with the recent rain we had yesterday, (which we so desparately need), it didn't do too much for the water levels. (I was hoping for some better flow)
Located roughly 7-miles south of Cranberry, PA in a town called Rockland,. this place is rather easy to get to.
