This photo was snapped at the register on the way off the mountain. Cisco was visibly upset with me and the series of indignities to which I had subjected him during the morning, the crowning humiliation being the booties. He lay down and acted exactly like a sulking toddler. He would not look at me or answer me and when I tried to put my hand near his head to pet him he moved his head away from me and gazed off into the distance. All he wanted at this point was to get back to the car and go home.
The booties would have been needed in any case to walk down the paved part of the San Antonio Falls road, as it was blistering hot by noon. With the booties on, Cisco trotted down the road with no discomfort at all.
