In late February 2013, human remains were found here, thought to be those of an elderly man who had gone missing from a nearby residential home some weeks previously.

Simon Crubellier they need to keep the gates of residential homes locked, or that 's what happens.(My mother had Alzheimer's)
Poor fellow, I hope he thought he'd reached freedom, or safety.

In fact, I've just noticed that I took this *exactly* five years before his body was found. Totally with you on that - there's a home near my dad's place whose residents occasionally find themselves wandering, confused, around his garden, and I dread to think how he would cope were one of them to get into difficulties.

If he has their phone number, they should be able to send transportation for any escapees, surely? The place where Mum spent time before she passed away, the gate was always locked (busy road nearby too), and notices asking visitors to make sure they closed it properly as they left, helped. Hard not to think of prisons, but they did the best in a difficult job.Mum's fear, prior to being there, was ( imagining) some man who had been watching her apartment .She convinced herself that she was likely to be the victim of a robbery I think.
