Osmington White Horse

    Prev Next

The Osmington White Horse, outside Sutton Poyntz, UK. This prehistoric figure is carved into the white chalk of the hillside - such horse carved shapes are called "Leucippotomy".

    As seen in Google Maps.

I remember spotting this horse from 15,000 feet while flying in this area in 1975. Quite a surprise.

I do like this as it's local cultural history but 1808 is not prehistoric....
