Garden Cycle 2014-2015
The seasons of Los Angeles cycle from the hot dry late summer and fall through the cool rainy (in good years) winter to the clear warm spring and the foggy early summer. This cycle is reflected in our garden, where the native plants live by the cycle of heat and natural rain.

This album starts in the fall, after several months of dry weather, which the plants reflect with shades of green, grey, and brown. Rain started in November, and there was enough to turn the garden into a lush green hill from December into March. We are in a drought, however, and the flowers of spring came early in March and April.
