Disneyland - Goodnight
Walt waves goodbye from a distance as the guests make their way to the exit.
We've recently had a few security "horror stories" at Disneyland, but on this night they were actually very understanding and helpful. By the time I had set up for this shot, getting everything lined up perfectly, a half dozen security officers gathered dead center in the frame at the base of the hub. I took a few frames hoping they would move around enough so I could take parts from the multiple exposures and effectively remove them from the frame. During one of my brackets, they formed their line and began their forward sweep towards Main Street. This means they were walking directly at my camera. As they swarmed around me with their hinting stares, one security officer said "we are in your way, right? You'd like us to move?" I politely explained that I am hoping for a clean shot with nobody in the frame. To my surprise, he called out to his fellow officers and asked them to step aside so I may get my shot.
I just wanted to share this story because even though we have rough encounters with Disneyland security from time to time, we also have pleasant experiences with friendly security officers.
