Munich: detail

Detail of the previous piece.

I have been unsuccessfully working for the past few weeks on a method of bending my shapes without compromising sharpness or quality. I finally sorted it out.

Munich is 18 x 24.

    beautiful pieces...
do you import the same shapes from an illustration to another, or create them from scratch?

another little question, are you using illustrator warp to bending the shapes or other techniques?

Hi Felipe. I use Flash to create small groups of shapes which are exported to Illustrator to be fixed and edited. After which I bring them into Photoshop for overall assembly and color treatment.

I couldn't get the warp tool to perform properly, and it always messed up the curves. I actually use brushes, it's simple and maintains smoothness.

So it's rectangualar brushes with angled sides that are stroked onto circles? It looks fucking brilliant.

please give us a detailed tutorial on your technique(s).
We'll nerver do it as good as you do, but at least we'll try.

    Thanks, really love your work

"I couldn't get the warp tool to perform properly, and it always messed up the curves. I actually use brushes, it's simple and maintains smoothness."

If you could help me out, that would be wonderful.

How do you use the brushes exactly? Do you actually use them to curve the shape somehow? Because how would you get it to be a perfect circle?
