I got this link from AlicePopkorn:

My name is Makiko. I am one Japanese woman living in Madrid for one year.

As you know, one big earthquake happened in Japan on March, Friday 11. This earthquake has affected me emotionally a lot. Until late Friday morning I heard nothing from my people, did not know if they were alive or dead. Japan collapsed, and for hours I could not communicate with no one. Although my family and friends are not injured, I am still very touched to see the news from Japan. So I´ve had an idea. The plan is that each person make an "origami crane". To help you out, I made a video explaining how.

Then I would like each one of you take a picture of the made crane and send it to me at this address: las1000grullas@gmail.com

In Japan we use to make 1,000 cranes to be granted a wish. So I need your help to encourage my country and especially the people in the areas most affected by the disaster. Once we have the one thousand cranes, they will be sent to our friends in Northern Japan, who needs so much help and encouragement.

Meanwhile, I will upload your images to this blog: las1000grullas.wordpress.com

There you'll see, thanks to you, how the project progress.

Thank you for your interest and I hope that, together with this effort, we can make this will true.

Arigato,

Makiko Sese, Madrid, Spain
