Stranger 2 - Charles
Charles, San Diego, California
I was doing a photo walk with my Uncle after the rain let up in Atlanta and came across Charles sitting next to a local bar. At first I passed him leary about taking his picture because he was homeless. My Uncle remembered he had a plate in the car and he told me to wait up so he could give the food to him. He gave it to him and proceeded to ask me if I wanted to take my first stranger picture since we had talked about it over lunch. I was a bit hesitant but stop second guessing and said why not.
I gave the 100 strangers pitch, " I'm doing a project where I photograph 100 strangers, would you allow me to take your picture " He put down the plate of food and said sure.
With camera in hand adjusting the settings I clicked the shutter while asking , " What's your name."
He replied, " Charles. "
The shutter clicked again, "Where are you from Charles? "
He re positioned and said ," San Diego "
I looked up from the camera and said, " Wow that's all the way across the states."
One last pose as he said, " Yes but I've been here for some time now."
I smiled and said, "Thank you , have a Merry Christmas." He replied, " Merry Christmas to you too."
The 2/100 strangers for me. I encourage you to participate and find out more at 100 Strangers
