PC067742r 5643 Janus helmet Possibly associated with Gule Wamkulu. ? Chewa or related groups, Southern Tanzania or neighbouring regions.

Old worn janus mask with exaggerated features possibly used in Gule Wamkulu ceremonies was collected from Southern Tanzania or Northern Mozambique in 2002.

See images for condition. He has been repaired around the neck rim at some time in the past. Carved from Softwood and quite light,
