Bubble Hockey Night for SickKids 2019
Last night, over 300 SickKids supporters attended the fourth-annual RBC Capital Markets presents Bubble Hockey Night for SickKids in collaboration with StateView Homes. It was a memorable evening, filled with friendly competition amongst Toronto’s business leaders, the opportunity to play alongside hockey legends and of course, a lot of fundraising. The sold-out tournament of 96 teams raised over $370,000 to support the SickKids VS Limits campaign to build a renewed, reimagined SickKids.

After an exciting opening ceremony during which participants had the opportunity to recruit the help of NHL alumni during game-play, the tournament kicked off, and attendees participated in cool activations such as the “be a legend” photobooth, the “goalie challenge” and ice-skating between games! Joe Bowen, the ‘voice of the Maple Leafs’, emceed the evening and commentated during the final match. It was once again, the coolest event of the season.

Adding a wonderful connection to the cause element, participants competed for the inaugural Grace Bowen Cup. Grace was a patient who passed away from osteosarcoma. Grace was an avid hockey player and a kid overly passionate for life and having fun who became good friends with a number of celebrities including Canadian hockey legend Hayley Wickenheiser, Justin Williams current captain for the Carolina Hurricanes, Michael Futa, assistant general manager of the LA Kings, and Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds.

Thank you to our sponsors, competitors, spectators and volunteers for all of your support.
