IMO, the fewer the lens elements, the more you have to stop down to get adequate sharpness in the plane of focus. This results in less blitzed out backgrounds in actual use. This applies to 3 element lenses vs. Tessars vs. Planars.

You have provided very good notes on lenses. 35mm f/2 is a dream of a wide optics. I am still looking for Zuiko 35mm/f2 and the price is a bit beyond my reach for pleasure use.

I also agree with the quality of the fast optics. One don't really need to shoot opened wide but the image quality differs from the lower grade lens that you mentioned. I do find my 50mm 1.2 and 1.4 performed a lot better in f2-f4 range than the f1.8 or f2 optics.

This is a dream of a shot with very good lenswork and perfectly executed DoF.

Thanks for sharing and have a nice day, Fadzly.
    Best regards,
    Jusni
