Peanut Butter Blossums

Peanut Butter Blossoms




48 Hershey’s KISSES milk chocolates

1/2 cup Crisco Butter flavored shortening

3/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter

1 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1 egg

3 Tbls milk

1 1/4 Tbls vanilla

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teas baking soda

3/4 teas salt

Granulated sugar




Heat oven to 375°F. Remove wrappers from chocolates.


Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl. Add brown sugar, milk, and vanilla. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Add egg and vanilla; beat just until blended.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in separate bowl. Gradually beat into peanut butter mixture on low speed just until blended.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.


Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until lightly browned. DO NOT OVER BAKE. Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into center of each cookie; cookie will slightly crack around edges. Cool completely. About 4 dozen cookies.


This recipe new in 2009. After years of not so good cookie dough, I found a good recipe to use for this cookie!
