Shot at Barrie's 1812 Reenactment and Encampment. The war of 1812 was a military conflict between the United States and Great Britain. As a colony of Great Britain, Canada was swept up in the War of 1812 and was invaded a number of times by the Americans. www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com/articles/war-of-1812.

The Burning of Washington in 1814 was an armed conflict during the War of 1812 between Great Britain (Canada) and the United States of America. On August 24, 1814, after defeating the Americans at the Battle of Bladensburg, a British force led by Major General Robert Ross occupied Washington, D.C. and set fire to many public buildings. The facilities of the U.S. government, including the White House and U.S. Capitol, were largely destroyed. The British/ Canadian commander's orders to burn only public buildings and strict discipline among the troops are credited with preserving the city's private buildings. So the USA was once invaded by now-known Canada!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_of_Washington
