I often see a few ducks or geese when I visit the pond, but this day was unusual. When I pulled up, there were hundreds on the bank. There were many more than I captured in this photo, and they practically stretched the entire length of the pond. They simply went to the other side to get away from me.
As the evening wore on, they started to take off in groups. I must have watched twenty different groups take off. I suppose this was just a resting place along their journey.
