I've never been to a drive in movie. Love to do that sometime. Nice find Don :-)

    Thanks, everyone.

Dagmar - This place really was a piece of Americana. Bring the whole family... $7. :)

Hans - Although I saw movie at drive-in when I was a kid, I missed the heyday of that era. I wish I had seen it way back when.

If you have a big family and a big car, this is a real deal!

Ooh, we have a really great drive-in, The Cherry Bowl.

It's too bad that when you do pass through Michigan it will be nowhere near all this cool stuff.

Wait, here's a picture of the place. I can't really explain the chicken.

  9. shiphome 78 months ago | reply

That is chicken is the coolest thing.... it needs no explanation. :)

Beulah, MI?..... I looked it up. Man it is right on the lake. Seems like a really cool place.

Just love that light. Evocative image. If I make a ten-mile detour, I drive past the last remaining outdoor in our area. Maybe I'll shoot it in black and white one of these days -- I sure could never match this color and light.

    Inconceivable.
This movie must have been a blockbuster.

  15. gee hue [deleted] 78 months ago | reply

Is it still open? There aren't many drive-ins in these parts any more ....

  16. shiphome 78 months ago | reply

Thank you for that compliment, Peter. I would love to see images of it in wither color or b&w from you... you do both very well.

Dietmar - I would have loved to have seen this movie.

Greg - This one is no longer open. Actually, I don't know of a drive-in around this area that is still operating.

This is so crazy that you're taking all the simple things in our town and making them look awesome. :)
