Lion's Gate Bridge

This bridge from Vancouver to North Vancouver was built from 1937 to 1938, so judging by the cars seen here this must be an early photograph of the bridge...

Just had a hankering to scan a few more old photos from my found collection...

    Great composition! I love the symmetry , think it really adds some structure to the image. And the contrasting cars crossing the bridge look great! Nicely done.

    My father took a photo very similar to this. He had his own dark room and a Omega B-7 enlarger. You will note that not much is on the north shore.

    My guess is that the photographer used an infrared filter on the camera for this shot. It was a very common way of getting dramatic skies in BW photos back in the "old days."
