Details: William Adamson, born in Sunderland on 23 November 1884, son of William Adamson and Eliza Adamson of Langham Tower, Sunderland.

 

Attended Aysgarth Preparatory School.

 

Attended Sherborne School (School House) January 1899-December 1903; 6th form; 1st XV rugby football team 1902, 1903.

 

Attended Trinity College, Cambridge: admitted as a pensioner 25 June 1904, BA 1907, MA 1911.

 

Farmed at Greenfoot, Sebergham, near Carlisle.

 

WW1, Captain in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, 11th (Reserve) Bn. Killed in Iraq/Mesopotamia on 24 April 1916.
