Details: Edwin Hamer Watson (1921-1945), born 3 October 1921, son of Clement Goodman Watson (1885-1950), solicitor, of Market Harborough, and May Sybil Watson (née Hamer) (1889-1972) of The Lindens, Lytham, Lancashire.


Attended Pembroke Lodge School, Southbourne.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbey House) September 1935-December 1939; 6th form; 2nd XI hockey (1939); 3rd XI cricket (1938-1939); PT Instructor.


WW2, Lieutenant in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, attached to the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). Died on active service at Trimulgherry, Secunderabad on 25 April 1945 from grenade wounds to the chest and abdomen, aged 23.
