Details: Douglas William Bulpin Taylor (1916-1943), born 1 May 1916, son of Richard Bulpin Taylor and Ethel Bulpin Taylor of Hendford Lodge, Yeovil. Married to Lilian Mary Bulpin Taylor (nee Hannam), married at Stourton on 14 July 1942. Lived at Bourton, Dorset.

 

Attended Connaught House preparatory school, Weymouth.

 

Attended Sherborne School (Harper House) January 1930-July 1934; 6th form; House Prefect; Gym Squad (1933-34); Class Leader with Badge; Corporal in OTC.

 

Royal Veterinary College, B.Sc., M.R.C.V.S.

 

WW2, Flying Officer, 59 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (RAFVR).

Killed in action over the Bay of Biscay on 20 August 1943, aged 27, having taken off with his crew from RAF Station Aldergrove in No.59 Squadron Liberator 'F', to escort the convoy MKS21, bound for the UK.
