Details: Reginald Hubert Stern (1906-1941), born 7 March 1906, son of Major Henry Julius Joseph Stern and Mrs Constance Stern, of Monmouth House, Yenston, Templecombe, Somerset. Brother of James Andrew Stern (1904-1993), Leila Mary Stern (1910-1928), Rosemary Stern (1913-1976) and Peter Francis Stern (1915-2002). Married to Catherine Joan Deles Dernier Stern (nee Shepherd) of Kilbrack, Doneraile, Co. Cork.


Attended Wixenford Preparatory School, Wokingham, Berkshire.


Attended Sherborne School (Harper House), January 1920-April 1924; member of the Sophists; Harper House XV and XI teams.


Lieutenant in the North Somerset Yeomanry.


Trained horses in Ireland.


WW2, Second Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery. Killed in action at Swansea, Glamorgan, on 21 February 1941, aged 34.


The Swansea Blitz was the heavy and sustained bombing of Swansea by the German Luftwaffe from 19 to 21 February 1941. A total of 230 people were killed and 397 were injured.
