Details: Donald Ian Sandilands (1909-1941), born 21 August 1909, son of Sir John Edward Sandilands, M.D., and of Marion Ethel Sandilands (nee Courtney) of Bombay and St Aidans, Sherborne, Dorset.

Brother of John Anthony James Sandilands (1917-1944)


Attended the Old Malthouse School, Langton Matravers, Dorset.


Attended Sherborne School (School House) January 1923-December 1927; Class Leader with Badge.


?Asiatic Petroleum Company and Tea business.


WW2, Captain, 5th Battalion, 7th Rajput Regiment, Indian Army. Killed in action at Hong Kong during the Japanese Invasion on 19 December 1941, aged 32.
