Details: Michael Reginald Mark Pooles (1915-1942), born 15 June 1915, son of Mark Pooles and Doris Kathleen Poole (née Woulfe) of Birchanger, Northwood, Middlesex.

Siblings: John Gerald Pooles (1920-2007).

Married to Patricia Cave.


Attended Bowden House School, Seaford, Sussex.


Attended Sherborne School (School House) January 1929-December 1933; 6th form; House Prefect; Corporal in OTC; Class Leader.


Tea broker.


WW2, Flight-Lieutenant (Pilot), 35 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (RAFVR). Killed in action off Trondheim, Norway, at the sinking of the German battleship Tirpitz, on 28 April 1942, aged 26.
