Details: Arthur Guildford Mainwaring-Ellerker-Onslow (1888-1943), born 8 July 1888, son of Charles Vere Townshend Mainwaring-Ellerker-Onslow and Amelia Tolson Mainwaring-Ellerker-Onslow of Ingleby, Wimborne Road, Bournemouth. Married to Helen Maie Mainwaring-Ellerker-Onslow of Pond Close, Hightown, Ringwood.


Attended Ascham House School, Bournemouth.


Attended Sherborne School (Harper House) May 1903-July 1907. Took part in the 1905 Sherborne Pageant


Trinity College, Cambridge, BA.


Honorary Captain in charge Motor Ambulances, Eastern Command, 1915-1917.


WW2, Flight-Lieutenant, 958 Balloon Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (RAFVR). Died on active service at Swansea, Glamorgan on 8 December 1943, aged 55.


Commemorated at:

Bournemouth (Wimborne Road) Cemetery, Sec. S.6. Grave 64.S. Inscription on headstone: ‘HE THAT ENDURETH TO THE END SHALL BE SAVED" JESU, MERCY; MARY, HELP R.I.P.’
