Details: John Christopher Kent (1916-1942), born 16 March 1916, son of Frederick Gordon Kent and Kathleen Nora Kent of 109A Shooter's Hill Road, Blackheath, London, S.E.3.


Attended St Peter's School, Seaford, Sussex.


Attended Sherborne School (The Green) January 1930-December 1934; 6th form; House Prefect; Trebles (1932, 1933, 1934); Class Leader; Corporal in OTC.


Royal Military College, Sandhurst (shooting team); Royal Tank Corps.


WW2, Major, 42nd (23rd Battalion, The London Regiment), Royal Tank Regiment, R.A.C. Killed in the Western Desert on 5 June 1942, aged 26.

Obituary, 'The Shirburnian', December 1944: 'John Christopher Kent, Captain, Royal Tank Regiment, was killed in action in Libya, in June 1942. From School he went to the R.M.C., Sandhurst, where he was in the Shooting team, and on passing out, he joined the Royal Tank Corps.'
