Obituary, 'The Shirburnian', July 1945: 'William Hallam John Hogg (c. '33-'38). William Hallam John Hogg, Lieutenant, Irish Guards, was killed in action in North-West Germany less than a fortnight before V-E Day. He came to Sherborne from St. Neots, Eversley, in September 1933. He soon showed that he had distinct ability both as an artist and as an actor, and it is for his success in these spheres and for his great sense of humour that he will be chiefly remembered by his friends at school.'
