Details: Gerald Langley Hobbs (1915-1942), born 16 March 1915, son of Langley Hobbs and Evelyn Maude Osborn Hobbs of 98 Madeley Road, Ealing, Middlesex. Married to Annette Yvonne Hobbs, of 98 Madeley Road, Ealing.


Attended Hamilton House School, Florence Road, Ealing.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbey House) September 1928-July 1933; 6th form; 1st XV rugby football team, 1932; 1st Class Gym.; Class Leader with Badge; Lance-Corporal in OTC; member of Duffers.


WW2, Captain, 50th Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps (R.A.C.). Died of wounds at El Alamein on 22 July 1942, aged 27.
