Details: John Anthony Lamond Fowler (1916-1942), born 17 June 1916, son of Herbert Henry Fowler (East India Merchant) and Gladys Annabella Fowler of 41 Pemberley Avenue, Bedford, late of Shanghai.


Attended Bedford School.


Attended Sherborne School (Westcott House) January 1930-July 1934; 6th form; Lance-Corporal in OTC.


Imperial Chemical Industries, 1934-1936.


Royal Air Force (short service commission), 1936.


WW2, Squadron-Leader, Royal Air Force 21 Squadron. Service number: 39186. After taking off from RAF Abbotswinch on 24 May 1942, one of the engines on their Blenheim IV failed and the aircraft crashed 1 mile north of East Linwood, Renfrewshire, and all the crew were killed.
