Obituary, The Shirburnian, March 1945: 'G.R. Ffollett [sic] had a very creditable career at Sherborne as a House Prefect and reached the Sixth and 2nd XV. He went into the City, joined the H.A., and played for "The Wasps". In 1939 he got a Commission in the Dorsetshire Regiment, went to Malta in February 1940, and died there after an operation on January 30th 1941. His Colonel wrote of him that he was liked by all, officers and men, a good sportsman and a keen and reliable officer. "I had hoped to promote him in the near future. He was to me a personal friend whom I trusted and was very fond of."
