Details: Thomas Joseph Fairfax-Cookson (1916-1944), born 13 November 1916 in Canada, son of Gabriel and Elizabeth Fairfax-Cookson, of Orchard House, Blandford St. Mary, Dorset.


Attended Hill Crest School, Swanage, Dorset.


Attended Sherborne School (Harper House) September 1930-July 1934.


Oriel College, Oxford, B.A.


WW2, Gunner, 17 Coast Regiment, Royal Artillery. Died as a prisoner of war at Brus, Czechoslovakia, on 12 May 1944, aged 27.

Prague War Cemetery, Czech Republic, I. A. 2. Inscription on his headstone: ‘IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DEAR SON’
