Details: Roland Frederick Duncombe-Anderson (1908-1940), born 18 April 1908, son of Wilfred Arthur Duncombe (later Duncombe-Anderson), JP, OBE (Old Shirburnian) and Margaret Duncombe-Anderson, Alderstone House, Whiteparish, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Married to Elizabeth Frances Duncombe-Anderson, Orcheston, Salisbury, Wiltshire.


Attended Red House School, Moor Monkton, Yorkshire.


Attended Sherborne School (Westcott House) September 1921-July 1926.


Sandhurst; East Surrey Regiment.


WW2, Major, 1/6th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment. Killed in action at Mouscron, Belgium, on 26 May 1940, aged 32.


Commemorated at:

Roncq (Blanc-Four) Communal Cemetery, Nord, France, grave 3. Inscription on his headstone: ‘DEO, REGI, PATRIAE’
