Details: Peter Donald Campbell (1916-1942), born 4 July 1916, son of H.E. Campbell and Ethel Marion Campbell of Bantham House, Kingsbridge, Devon, formerly of Combe Royal, Kingsbridge, Devon, and 46 West Cromwell Road, London.


Attended St Albans Preparatory School, Lyme Regis, Dorset.


Attended Sherborne School (School House) September 1930-July 1934; 6th form; member of the tennis VI team in 1934.


Assistant Master, Victoria College, Alexandria, 1934-1935.


Worked for the Westminster Bank, Ltd.


WW2, Member of the Dutch Local Defence Force. He was killed on 16 March 1942 by a Japanese patrol while attempting to protect the residents of the Simbala Tea Estate in Sumatra, aged 25.
