Details: Robert Wallis Tucker MC (1919-1944), born 11 August 1919, son of John Alexander Croome Tucker (Old Shirburnian) and Charlotte Aileen Wallis Tucker, of Wanderwell, Bridport, Dorset.

 

Attended Connaught HousePreparatory School, Weymouth, Dorset.

 

Attended Sherborne School (School House) May 1933-July 1937; PT Instructor; Corporal in OTC; 2nd XV (1936); 3rd XI (1936).

 

St Catharine's College, Cambridge, B.A.

 

WW2, Captain in the 1st Bn., Dorsetshire Regiment. Mentioned in despatches. Awarded the Military Cross. Killed in action at Audrieu, Normandy, on 8 June 1944, aged 24.
