Details: George Edward Carrington Seale (1910-1944), born 10 April 1910, son of Dr E.A. Seale, Fitzroy Street, Grahamstown, South Africa.


Attended St Andrew's College, Grahamstown, South Africa.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbey House) May 1925-July 1929; 6th form; shooting viii, 1927, 1928, 1929.


New College, Oxford.




WW2, Flying Officer (Pilot), Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (RAFVR). Killed on active service at RAF Cranage, Byley, Cheshire, on 28 April 1942, aged 32, wwhen the aircraft he was returning in from RAF West Freugh in Scotland spun into the ground killing all crew and passengers.


Buried at:

Byley (St John) churchyard, Cheshire, Sec. D. Grave 13,-george...


Commemorated at:

Sherborne School: War Memorial Staircase; Book of Remembrance; Abbey House roll of honour.
