Details: Norman Buchanan Rutherfoord Pryde (1907-1942), born in the Transvaal, South Africa on 31 January 1907, son of J.B. Pryde and Dora Pryde, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Siblings: Zella and Leslie Pryde.

 

Attended The Vicarage School, Fenn Street, Amersham.

 

Attended Sherborne School (Harper House) September 1921-July 1925; 6th form; Prefect; Head of House; XXX Blazer; School Gym Colours (1925); Senior Class Leader with Badge; Sergeant in OTC.

 

University of Witwatersrand.

 

Architect.

 

WW2, Captain, 3 Field Company, South African Engineers Corps. Mentioned in despatches. Died at Heliopolis on 6 November 1942 from wounds received at the Battle of El Alamein, aged 35.
