Details: Walter Millar (1915-1942), born 19 July 1915, son of Walter Millar, coffee planter/Civil Service pensioner, and Isabel Mary Millar of the Rukera Estate, Ruiru, Kenya, formerly of 'Moyeni', Babbacombe, Devon. Baptised on 11 September 1915 at Babbacombe, Devon.


Attended Winchester Lodge School, Torquay, Devon.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbey House) January 1929-December 1931.


Coffee farming.


WW2, Lieutenant in the King's African Rifles/General List. Died on active service at Mombasa on 12 April 1941, aged 25.


Commemorated at:

Mombasa (Mbaraki) Cemetery, Kenya, row D, Grave 21. Inscription on his headstone: ‘AND HAVING NOTHING, YET HATH ALL',-walter/
