Details: Geoffrey Colin Drake-Brockman (1905-1942), born 3 December 1905, son of Colin Battie Drake-Brockman (Indian Police) and Florence Mary Drake-Brockman. Married to Cicely May Drake-Brockman, of Polegate, Sussex.


Attended St Cyprian's preparatory school, Eastbourne.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbey House) May 1919-December 1923; 6th form; 2nd XV 1923-1924; School Gym; Junior Class Leader.


Sandhurst; Royal Berkshire Regiment.


WW2, Major, Royal Berkshire Regiment, attached to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. Mentioned in despatches. Died on active service in Cairo on 27 February 1942, aged 36.

Obituary, The Shirburnian, March 1945: 'Geoffrey Drake Brockman went to Woolwich from Abbey House where he was from 1919-1923, and afterwards joined the Royal Berkshire Regiment. He was a born soldier and his career was full of promise. He became A.D.C. to the Governors of Bihar and Orissa, which post he held for two years. He was killed in February 1942.'
