Details: Denis Henry Dammers (1920-1942), born 25 June 1920, son of Eric Henry Falk Dammers (Old Shirburnian), chartered accountant, and Maud Winifred Dammers of 3 Highmore Road, Sherborne, Dorset, previously of Purbrook, The Avenue, Sherborne, Dorset.

 

Attended Chafyn Grove School, Salisbury, Wiltshire.

 

Attended Sherborne School (Day boy & later Abbey House) May 1934-April 1938; 1st XV rugby football team (1936, 1937); Gym Squad (1936-1937).

 

Fleet Air Arm.

 

WW2, Sub-Lieutenant (A), HMS Daedalus, Royal Navy. Wounded at Narvik, 1940. Killed on active service at Clewer, Berkshire, on 2 June 1942, aged 21.

 

Commemorated at:
