Details: John Geoffrey Stewart Browne (1922-1943), born 26 June 1922, son of Ernest H. Stewart Browne and Amy M. Stewart Browne, of Brighton, Sussex (formerly of Wickham House, Farnham, Surrey).
Siblings: Petronelle Browne.
Attended a preparatory school in Guildford.
Attended Sherborne School (The Green) September 1936-December 1939.
WW2, Sergeant (Navigator) in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (RAFVR). Killed in action on 24 October 1943, aged 21.

Obituary in 'The Shirburnian', December 1944: 'John Geoffrey Stewart Browne, Sergt.-Observer, R.A.F., was killed on active service in October 1943, shortly before going on Operations. His commanding officer said of him that his log of flights were first class and he was a valuable member of his crew.'
