Details: Adrian Henry Boome (1916-1943), born 14 December 1916, son of Brigadier-General Edward Herbert Boome, C.B., C.M.G., formerly of the Indian Army, and of Marguerite May Boome (nee Wharton), of Southbourne, Hampshire, formerly of The White House, Sherborne, Dorset.


Attended Sherborne Preparatory School.


Attended Sherborne School (Day boy and Abbeylands) January 1931-July 1934.


Studied at a London Architectural School.


Member of the Architectural Association.


WW2, Gunner in the Royal Artillery. Killed on active service near Ben Gardane, Tunis, Libya on 21 February 1943, aged 26.


Commemorated at:

Obituary in 'The Shirburnian', December 1944: 'A.H. Bourne [sic], who was killed in action while serving as a Gunner in the R.A., was the son of a Brigadier-General and Mrs Bourne [sic]. He was at Abbeylands from 1931 to 1934. He left School early to study Architecture.'
