Details: Hugh Hargrave Wyatt-Smith (1898-1916), born 9 February 1898 at Gunton, Orange Free State, South Africa. Son of Rupert Wyatt-Smith (Old Shirburnian) and Maud Wyatt-Smith of Abersky, London Road, Guildford, Surrey, formerly of Gunton, PO Schutters, Draai, Orange Free State, South Africa. Brother of John Drummond Wyatt-Smith (1899-1918)


Attended Packwood Haugh School, Warwickshire.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbey House) January 1912-December 1915; 6th form; Longmuir English prize, 1915; 1st XI cricket team, 1915.


WW1, Private in the 28th (County of London) Bn. (Artists' Rifles). Died of appendicitis in London on 17 February 1916.
