Details: Robert de Cardonnel Findlay (1868-1915), born 26 April 1868 at West Calder, Midlothian, Scotland, the son of James Findlay (1819-1904) and Lucy Anna de Cardonnel Greaves Elmsall (c.1827-1904) of Easterhill, Lanarkshire, formerly of 43 Leinster Square, Bayswater.
Attended Harrow preparatory school.
Attended Sherborne School (School House) May 1883-July 1887; 6th form.
Occupation: business in London.
WW1, gazetted in November 1914 with the temporary rank of Captain to the Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany's), 4th Bn. Killed on 11 March 1915 at Neuve Chapelle by a shell just before the advance started.
