Details: Claud Frederick Pilkington Parry (1870-1918), born 19 June 1870, son of Major-General F.W.B. Parry (2nd Bn., Cheshire Regiment) of North House, Chichester, Sussex, formerly of 9 Denzil Avenue, Cranbury Place, Southampton; brother of Gilbert Pilkington Parry (1871-1945); husband of Dora Frances Parry of "Kelvin", Brockhill Road, Hythe, Kent.


Attended Queen's School, Basingstoke, and St John's, Leatherhead.


Attended Sherborne School (Harper House) January 1884-December 1886.


Joined Royal Artillery 1890; Captain 1900; South African War 1900-1902.


WW1, Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery, 136th Battery. O.C. 34th Brigade, R.F.A; served in France from 5 November 1914 to 20 August 1918; wounded on 3 August 1917. Mentioned in despatches (four times). Awarded the D.S.O. Killed in France on 20 August 1918.
