Details: Alan Robert Lloyd Tucker (1894-1914), Born 25 June 1894 at Ashburton, Devon. Only son of Colonel Robert Edward Tucker (solicitor, Lt.-Col. Commanding 2/5th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, T.F.) and Annie Lloyd Tucker (nee Williams), of The Hall, Ashburton, Devon.


Attended Ashburton Grammar School, Devon.


Attended Sherborne School (The Green) September 1910-December 1912; Shooting VIII team 1911, 1912; House running and gym colours.


Attended Sandhurst.


WW1, Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant, Indian Army on 8 August 1914; subsequently attached to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 2nd Battalion. Went to France with a draught of sixty men on 21 November 1914. Killed in a night attack on the German trenches near Fleurbaix on his third night in the firing line, 18 December 1914.
