Details: William Stanley Goldsmith Jeffreys (1895-1916), born in Newport on 23 November 1895, son of William Jeffreys, of Llwynrhos, Newton, Porthcawl, Glamorgan, formerly of 28 Clytha Park, Newport.


Attended Newport International School.


Attended Sherborne School (The Green) May 1911-July 1914.


Attended Cardiff University.


WW1, Lieutenant in the Welsh Regiment, 13th (S.), Bn. (2nd Rhondda). Served in France 1915-1916. Killed at Mametz Wood on 10 July 1916.
