Details: John Stanley Leeds (1887-1915), born 12 August 1887 at Hadley Wood, Barnet. Eldest son of John Henry Sandford Leeds and Beatrice M. Leeds of Pasadena, Bushey Heath, Hertfordshire.


Attended Elstree and Stanmore Park preparatory schools.


Attended Sherborne School (School House) September 1901-August 1905; shooting viii team 1905. Took part in the 1905 Sherborne Pageant


Attended King's College, London.


Occupation: Mining Engineer. In business in Argentina, 1911.


WW1, 2nd Lieutenant in the Honourable Artillery Company. Returned from Argentine in September 1914 to join the Honourable Artillery Company. Given Commission in H.A.C., December 1914; went to France in July 1915. Went to the front (Flanders) June 1915. Killed in the crater at Hooge on 19 September 1915.
