Details: Geoffrey Ormerod Openshaw (1890-1918), born 24 November 1890 at Kentisbury, Devon, son of Oliver Openshaw and Maud Openshaw of The Grange, Kentisbury, Barnstaple, Devon. Married to Caroline Cecil Desire Openshaw of The Manor House, Ebford, Topsham, Devon.


Attended Sherborne Preparatory School.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbeylands) September 1904-July 1908. Took part in the 1905 Sherborne Pageant


Occupation: Devon land valuation staff.


WW1, Captain in the Royal Army Service Corps; attached 2nd Division. Wounded and taken prisoner. Declared missing on 27 May 1918. Died of wounds on 9 August 1918 while a prisoner of war in the Civilians camp at Rastatt, near Strasburg, Germany.
